Careers Week

We are thrilled to share with you the incredible success of our recent Careers Week at Redhill School, a vibrant week dedicated to shaping the future of our students. This year, we aimed to highlight the numerous paths that lie before our students post-16, integrating careers-focused activities across various facets of school life. Here's a glimpse into the excitement and learning that unfolded.

Tutor Time Activities: Our mornings were buzzing with energy as tutor groups delved into discussions and activities designed to enhance their understanding of Key skills in today’s workplace. Students explored the vast array of options available post-16, helping them to envision a future that aligns with their aspirations and talents.

Subject-Specific Insights: Classrooms turned into career exploration hubs, with subject lessons tailored to uncover the diverse careers each discipline can lead to. This unique approach allowed students to connect their passions and interests with potential future career paths, an invaluable insight for our budding professionals.

Aspirational Assemblies: Our school assemblies took on a profound focus, emphasising the significance of Careers Week. Assemblies were designed to inspire our students with messages on the importance of maximising their education, shedding light on how the skills and knowledge gained at school are stepping stones to achieving their dreams.

Guest Speakers Galore: The highlight of our Careers Week was undoubtedly the wisdom and experiences shared by our distinguished guest speakers:

Hannah Escott, an outstanding figure in mountain biking and a four-time 4X Mountain Bike World Series Champion, captivated students with her journey through the peaks and valleys of professional sports.

Jessica Casewell,  an local entrepreneur who turned a simple motto, "If you don't ask, you don't get," into a thriving fashion empire with Shorso, inspired our students with her entrepreneurial spirit and the evolution of her business.

Jonathan Poole, the visionary behind the success of the Merry Hill Shopping Centre, shared insights into his career journey and the critical skills needed to navigate the business world successfully.

Looking Ahead: The excitement continues as we eagerly anticipate the visit from Kerys Harrop, a former English footballer renowned for her contributions to the sport and her inspirational journey with the England national team. Kerys' experience will surely be a beacon of inspiration for our students, showing them the heights, they can achieve with determination and passion.

As we reflect on the amazing week, we are filled with pride for the engaging and insightful experiences provided to our students. Careers Week at Redhill School was not just about exploring future possibilities; it was a celebration of potential, inspiration, and the boundless opportunities that await our students. We believe that the knowledge and insights gained this week have sown seeds of ambition and aspiration in the hearts of our young learners.

Thank you to all the staff, guest speakers, and, most importantly, our students for making Careers Week a wonderful success. Here's to empowering our students to dream big and chase those dreams with confidence!
